Squire (the Boss!): Mary Esslemont  squire@hump.org.uk  0118 987 4346

Secretary:             Sheila Cook  sheila@gr8-productions.co.uk

Publicity Officer:  Carey Singleton   0118 987 1896

Assistant Publicity Officer:  Keith Bowden

Treasurer/Bagman:              Mike Russell

Foremen (dance teachers): Mary Esslemont, Sally Bryson-Bond

Kit Officer:                           Margaret Russell

Lead Musician:                     Amanda Prince

A quick run-down of the officers in the side, if you’re interested! The Squire is the boss of the side, he/she who must be obeyed at all costs! The Foremen’s job is to teach us everything they know about the dances in our repertoire and keep us from the pub until the official 10 o’clock ending to our practices!! The Treasurer is often known as the ‘Bagman’, the ‘Bag’ or just ‘Sir’ depending upon whether you owe him money!

Want to Join Us?

HuMP is an expanding group of dancers and players - not weightwise, well, present company excepted!! - and we're always happy to welcome anyone who's interested in joining us either as a dancer or a musician.  If that sounds like you, just get in touch and come along to one of our Thursday night practice sessions where you can have a go.  Oh yes, and where you can come along to the local pub with us afterwards, if you fancy it!  SO...what are you waiting for?? Give Mary or me (Carey) a ring on the numbers above.  If we're not in, just leave your name and number and we'll call you back.  Hopefully see you soon!

Bookings

HuMP does take bookings to appear at village fêtes, carnivals, weddings and other events and keeps on top of running costs by making a small charge, in some cases.

If you’d like to book us, please feel free to get in touch with the Squire or Secretary. One word of advice, though. We get booked up very early in the practice season – often months before the actual 'formal' dance season of May to September – so do give us plenty of notice and we’ll see what we can do!
